rock4rights was initiated on the gold coast in sunny australia by a group of inspired young activists. the festival featured some of australia's hottest bands and was a wonderful success. check out the photos from rock4rights '06! in australia.
the rock4rights movement has recently extended to north america. amnesty international local group 48 of portland, oregon - usa has decided to organize rock4rights concert benefits in hopes of spreading human rights awareness and inspiring the community to get involved. the first concert will be in spring 2007.
the very first north american rock4rights festival is coming up in 2007. it will provide heaps of opportunities for individuals and schools to get involved.
as an individual you might want to volunteer to work on the event street team or help out at the concert. you might have contacts with businesses who would like to donate time or resources to help make the event a success.
there are also heaps of ways that you can get your school or college involved with rock4rights. you or your arts department teachers and students might want to be involved in doing artwork for promotions, staging, or festival t-shirts. you might want to distribute information at your school to promote the event and get other people involved in the rock4rights movement.
